“Do I need prior storytelling experience?”

No, you do not need an ounce of experience to get on stage! Just a little bit of bravery and a fun story idea. We do require, however, that you see at least one of our shows before pitching a story and participating. It helps you know what to expect!

“Is storytelling the same as stand-up?”

Nope! It's not stand-up and it's also not improvised along the way. It's scripted storytelling that helps you put your story together in an organized way and memorize it for the stage.

“Is there a time limit for stories?”

Yes - we shoot for 10-minutes!

“Do I have to write down my story, or can I just have it in my head?”

We require you to write it down because it's a specific practice that will help you get down to the nitty-gritty of what you want to say and how you want to say it. Trust us.

“Do I have to memorize my story?”

You do, it's a part of the experience....we promise you can do it! And we'll help.

“How do you help me prep to tell my story?”

Once you're selected, you'll get the chance to get feedback at a read-through rehearsal. From there, you'll get individual coaching to refine and memorize it, getting ready for the stage!
